Paper Coffee Filters

Paper coffee filters are inexpensive, are easy to use and don't require clean up. Paper filters eliminate oils and other unwanted articles as coffee passes through. Some suggest that filtered coffee is better for your health.

Melitta invented the filter top device lined with disk shaped blotting paper. Technology improved the quality of the paper over the years. Melitta developed a paper filter that has micro fine perforations that allow more coffee aroma to come through, while eliminating oils and other unwanted articles. Some manufacturers use brown paper filters made from unbleached pulp that contain no harmful chemicals.

The Melitta number 4 cone filters made from unbleached pulp cost about $3.30-4.00 for a 100 count package. The filter fits all coffee makers that have a number 4 filter cone.

Bunn uses special paper that has been oxygen processed for best coffee flavor. Bunn filters are made from 100% virgin pulp. The filters are oxygen whitened and chlorine free. The Bunnomatic filters for 12 cup drip coffee makers cost about $5-7 for a 250 pack. Bunn coffee filters for 10 cup drip coffee makers cost about $3.50 for a 100 pack.

Krups offers unbleached natural brown paper filters. Number 2 filters for 4 and 8 cup coffee makers cost about $4 for a 100 pack. Krups Moka Brew paper filters size 1 cost about $5 for a 100 count pack.
