Roasters are easy to use

Home coffee roasters are an easy method to roast coffee beans yourself. Coffee tastes best, if you use coffee beans roasted in the last 20-40 hours. Roasting coffee beans yourself will make sure that you always have fresh tasting coffee. The roasting process takes about 10-20 minutes.

Most home roasters use the fluid bed roasting. These machines work on the same principle as the hot air popcorn poppers. Popular machines in this category are the Hearthware home roasters, which cost about $120-180. The Fresh Roast machines also use this method and cost about $75-100.

Another type of roasting is radiant drum roasting. Machines for this type include the Hot Top Drum Roaster. The price is about $585 for the regular machine and $685 for the digital model. The Alpenrost model is also a drum roaster, which costs about $280.

If you are new to roasting, the Fresh Roast coffee roaster is a good machine to start. It is easy to use and ideal for one or two coffee drinkers.
