Automatic Drip Coffee Makers are very convenient
There are various types of coffee makers available that make good coffee. For home coffee
brewing, the drip method is easy and very convenient. Correct grinding of the coffee beans
and using the right water temperature, will make a good tasting coffee. The average price is about $20-80.
The standard drip coffee machines are generally inexpensive and are easy to use. No special
accessories are required. The 12 cup Cuisinart is a good looking machine with features like
a clock, timer and a small batch setting. The small batch setting allows you to make
one to four cups of coffee. The price is about $80.
A more basic machine is the Braun Aromaster, which costs about $20. It does not have
many features, but still makes good coffee. It is a 10 cup machine.
A well known brand is Mr. Coffee, which has several models priced about $20-80.
Other types of automatic coffee machines can have a thermal carafe and a built in grinder. The price range for these machines is about $50-200.
Features to look for, when choosing a coffee machine:
- A timer is very convenient. You set the timer at night so that you have coffee ready in
the morning. As a safety feature, the timer should turn off the hot plate after a few hours.
- A pause and serve feature will allow you to have a cup of coffee before the coffee is finished.
- A washable filter eliminates buying paper filters. Paper filters remove more of the oil and
sediment.
