Bodum Espresso Machines

Bodum has been making coffee appliances for over 20 years. Bodum espresso machines have been a recent addition.

The Bodum Granos Automatic Espresso Machine costs about $450-500. It is a stylish 1 cup stainless steel machine. You can use ground coffee or coffee pods. Just program the machine to your specifications and start the brewing with the touch of a button. Steaming and frothing is easy. Press the steam button and in about 30 seconds the machine will reach the proper temperature for steaming.

Features include:
1. Steam/frothing function
2. Hot water function
3. Cup warmer
4. Removable 58 oz water reservoir
5. Water bottle adapter
6. 2 year warranty

To keep the machine running properly, you need to perform simple cleaning. After brewing, empty the portafilter and rinse it. Clean the frothing wand and rinse the attachment. Empty the drip tray when needed. Descale the machine every 2-4 months to keep the espresso tasting good.

The Bodum 12 ounce espresso maker is a simple stovetop espresso maker. It is constructed of durable stainless steel with a black Bakelite handle. You can brew coffee fast in this Chambord model. It is available in 12 oz and 24 oz sizes. All parts are dishwasher safe. Price is about $100 for the 12 oz model and $130 for the 24 oz model.

Basic brewing procedure:
1. Fill water chamber to the MAX mark, insert the filter and fill with fine ground coffee. Tighten the top and place the espresso maker on the stove top.

2. Steam pressure forces its way through the coffee grounds and deposits the brew in the upper chamber. A safety valve regulates the steam pressure.

3. After use, unscrew the espresso maker and place every part in the dishwasher or wash the parts by hand. Allow the parts to dry before reassembling.

The steam extraction produces a rich espresso. You can serve it in a few minutes.

The Chambord stove top espresso maker costs about $30. It is made from aluminum, bakelite, silicone and stainless steel.
